The 'cloud' has failed me
This week, despite all the hype, the cloud has completely failed me.
Let me recap this weeks events:
I would like to store all my data online for these reasons: 1. Access anywhere. 2. Sync between multiple computers. 3. Off site backup. 4. Easy sharing.

Did using Picasa for Mac just get my IP banned?
Since I won’t be buying 100Gs on Google Drive anytime soon thanks to their ridiculously bad Mac client, I decided to just archive my photo library to Google+. If you let it resize the photos to 2048, there is unlimited storage. For now I just want a cloud backup of my photos somewhere, so I figured I’d live with the reduced resolution.

GDrive sucking 2 - 4% CPU on Macs while idling!
So while I was getting all giddy planning how I was going to solve all my sync / backup problems using GDrive’s affordable storage I forgot to check one thing… resource usage. Sure enough, my fears were confirmed, GDrive sucks CPU with reckless abandon.
